| Welcome to Andavadoaka!
This website was created by the people of Andavadoaka to share information about their unique culture, environment and wildlife. Andavadoaka, a tiny fishing village along Madagascar’s southwest coast, boasts some of the most diverse and least explored marine systems on Earth.
The world's third largest continuous coral reef system is located here, extending more than 300 km and housing more than 500 species of tropical fish and corals. Visitors here can snorkel, sail, bird watch or explore legendary baobab forests where trees grow more than 5 metres wide.
Andavadoaka also is home to the Vezo, known as “people of the sea” for their close cultural, economic and spiritual ties to the ocean waters.
